We are a group of film students and lovers of science fiction. SISTER will be our first independently produced short outside of film school, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. It is an original sci-fi short, written by Jake Theriault and Philip Lambert. It will be shot on location around Orlando, Florida in December 2015 and January 2016.
SISTER takes place in a fictional universe, where the spiritual life of a multi-planet civilization is dominated by the worship three fraternal gods: the Sister and her two Brothers. Followers of the Sister are in the majority, as she is the unifying peaceful force between the Brothers, who are constantly at war in the cosmos. The devout hold that the siblings were once incarnate among an ancient people on a now-abandoned planet, and after ruling for a thousand years, ascended back into their spiritual realm. The doubtful claim that they were mortal, and if someone were to search hard enough, the tomb of the sacred Sister could be found on that overgrown planet. Dr. Johana Shenzra is an archaeologist searching for that tomb in order to prove incorrect the faith of millions. A group of zealots will do anything to prevent that from coming to pass, and within Johana a touch of uncertainty begins to grow.
